Effectiveness and Economic Viability of Forest Certification: A Systematic Review

In the face of accelerating forest degradation and deforestation, certification emerged in early 1990s as a voluntary market-based mechanism to promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, economically viable management world’s forests. A key goal is reduce deforestation while enhancing enterprises’ economic viability. However, whether contributes meeting such goals unclear.
